FarmFirst Awards $22,500 in Scholarships

Twenty students will receive a total of $22,250 in scholarships from FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative this year. 2024 marks the twelfth year that the cooperative has been providing scholarships, for a grand total of 261 recipients totaling $248,500.

“FarmFirst has consistently emphasized the importance of investing in the education of the next generation. Education is crucial for equipping future leaders with the essential skills they need for success,” states Sarah Sarbacker, Director of Communication and Marketing for FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. “We take pride in continuing to offer this valuable resource to our members and their families.”

“Our scholarship program represents an investment in the youth of our cooperative. Thanks to the ongoing dedication of our members and board of directors, we are able to consistently offer this essential support to the students benefiting from the program,” says John Rettler, Board President of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative.

This year’s scholarship recipients are: Courtney Bauer of Durand, WI; Abby Becker of Auburndale, WI; Stella Bieri of Muscoda, WI; Cassandra Bohnert of East Moline, IL; Reagan Borchardt of Edgar, WI; Logan Brand of Ellsworth, WI; Austin Brand of Ellsworth, WI; Isabella Fallos of Rib Lake, WI; Kaitlin Flood of Oconomowoc, WI; Grace Hingtgen of Bellevue, IA; Anna Kayhart of Granton, WI; Lucas Mathes of Brillion, WI; Helen McBroom of Vulcan, MI; Emi McCarville of Mineral Point, WI; Katelynn Osborn of Athens, WI; Ian Spoke of Waterloo, WI; Gracie Stanek of Union Center, WI; Wyatt Storms of Muscoda, WI; Brett Thiel of Auburndale, WI and Wesley Winch of Fennimore, WI. Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership activities, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, essay responses and their future plans and career goals. All members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative and their children attending four-year universities, two-year technical programs or short courses and high school seniors planning for postsecondary education in any area of study were eligible to apply for the scholarships.
