Full Webinar Overview - April 30th, 10:00am CST
Farm transition is often treated as a legal event, something that happens when ownership changes hands or documents are signed. But the reality is, transition is already happening on your farm every day. Leadership is shifting, responsibilities are evolving, and the next generation is either growing into their role - or they’re not. In this session, Laura Daniels, farmer, entrepreneur, and family business advisor, brings real-world insight to one of the most important conversations in agriculture today. Drawing from her work with hundreds of farm owners, Laura will challenge common assumptions and help participants see transition not as a single moment, but as an ongoing process that is essential for protecting legacy while still allowing for future innovation.
Participants can expect an interactive conversation grounded in practical tools. Laura will introduce her Farm Transition Readiness Score, a simple but powerful framework to help farms assess where they are today and what needs to be in place before moving forward in earnest. Together, we will explore the critical difference between ownership and management. We’ll also discuss shared responsibility between generations and the role of communication, financial clarity, and alignment, all required for successful transition. Attendees will leave with clear language, actionable tools, and renewed confidence to begin or move forward in the transition conversations on their own farms.
